Am I the only one that doesn't like the design of the Microsoft Argo?

If i may quote Bare Naked Ladies... "...Its all been done, woohoohoo, its all been done, woohoohoo...."

simplicity sells. pretty soon there will be no buttons at all.

Yes, simplicity does sell, and the iPod is more simplistic than the Argo, so it will sell better.
More buttons is simpler? Pass whatever you're smoking over here.

What does the number of buttons have to do with simplicity? You know, removing too much from something is also making it more complicated.

I commented on the Engadget post. I think their downfall is going to be trying to be "different" from Apple when instead, like Vista, they should "borrow" features such as the color scheme for the Argo. I honestly think that ivory color is hideous in every way/shape/form possible. Stick to plain, KISS. Stick with white, black, very simple colors. I would not buy that ivory colored player, just based on the looks of it. Many people base their purchase decision on aesthetics alone.

Oh please, if it had more buttons you'd whine that it's cluttered and too complicated.

But if it had only 1 button, youd be lost

-Got simplicity?

Exactly, which is one of the main reasons why the iPod is so successful. No other player has matched it stylistically, and not only in my opinion, but also in the opinions of all those that bought the iPod to make it so popular. For better or for worse, the mainstream consumers who drive the most sales of MP3 players like to look "cool" with their devices, and I cannot see someone as admittedly superficial as this buying the Argo over the iPod.

Personally, if looks were the only factor in my decision (like with most people), I would buy the iPod, and most people would do the same.
