Am I the only one playing Minecraft?

I did a quick search and was surprised there aren't many threads on Minecraft...or at least not a dedicated one.

Anyways I just started playing again this past weekend, it's a game I always come back to after a few months.

If you have never played modded minecraft I highly suggest you download a modpack from either the Technic or FTB launchers....it completely changes the game. Like, there is so much to do it's almost overwhelming sometimes.

Also I hear that they are coming out with some sort of a PVP update or something where you can dual wield? Seems nifty but I can't go back to vanilla after playing mods.

Anyone else playing this or have experience with modded minecraft? I'm a noob at it but am starting back with Infinity 1.10.1

Probably. I tried it and I can't understand the following this game has.

I can see the vanilla version of the game not being appealing to all, but the modded versions seem right up the typical AT user's alley. Working on power grids, nuclear reactors, computer programming etc. Should loook into it if you haven't. Check out a few youtube videos on some mods.

We used to have a shop server at my house that had over 20 people on it. Since I moved a couple years ago we haven't really picked it back up. The wife and I sometimes get on.

ATOT is normally an older crowd, and for us Minecraft is in the same category as Snapchat and Tumblr: it just makes us feel old.

Ehh, I like to tinker around with IC2 and Buildcraft. Modpacks like FTB and Technic made things so much easier when they came out..

That said, I dont think I have logged in in a solid 6+ months.

My 8 year old plays it. I fired up a world the other day. My problem with it now, is I haven't played it in a year or two and there's just way too much stuff in it now.

A friend and I had a Direwolf20 server up for a few months. It was a ton of fun. Regularly had 20-25 people on at a time.

i play MC / IC2 regularly. i find vanilla minecraft to be far too easy, and yes i'm aware that it's not meant a challenging game, although it was born that way (and i really liked early minecraft).

i tried Better Than Wolves and Terrafirmacraft but they are imho more tedious than hard.

i love IndustrialCraft 2 (experimental) which i find satisfyingly complex and expansive.

Last time I played, it was with 2 friends and we ventured through TerraFirmaCraft. Had a lot of fun, but as soon as we hit the max tier, it's like we instantly lost interest.

My 12yo son plays all the time, plays in all kinds of servers doing weird stuff. I watch him and think "damn thats ugly, how do you stand even looking at it, let alone play it for hours at a time?".

And to think Microsoft pay 2 billions for the rights to this game is mind-blowing. I'm either not a gamer or so out of touch with what gamer nowadays enjoy.

Still don't even know why people enjoy Clash of Clans.

Honestly, the game never changed much after it's final release. People keep saying oh this and that, but other then modding and redstone stuff, all they did was just add superficial stuff to an extremely simple game.

Nothing to beat it down, the game is a stellar hit for a reason, but it's shocking to me about how little work went into it after the billions of $ it made.

What did Notch do? He talked @#%! on Twitter, made a mediocre card game, and a vaporware space game. The guy is one of the richest people around now, and he basically hasn't done anything at all.

All said, I heard he is a GREAT guy! Maybe just not the most dedicated or talented programmer 😉
