Am I the only one not scared to fly?

I'm talking with my sister and I mention that I'm flying out to Seattle this month. She looks at my like I'm crazy and asks me if I've seen the news at all, I say yes and I know what she was referring too. I told her that I'm not scared, and if someone does try anything they had better just blow up the damn plane because I'm going down fighting. And I hope whoever is sitting next to me thinks the same way.

I love to fly, but when you think about it the most dangerous part is strapping yourself to a giant engine being propelled through the air at several hundred miles per hour. Thats a hell of a lot scarier than terrorists, bombs, or snakes <--- somebody had to say it.

Not scared in the slightest, I don't see the point to be. Everyone has irrational fears though, ours are just different from those scared to fly.

Sort of. But not because of the terrorism because I'm not going down without a fight, either. It's just the "what if" say something mechanical were to malfunction - then I'm in the air helpless and plummeting to my death - that bothers me. It's an irrational fear, I guess.

hopping onto a plane that has a terrorist onboard is probably a lot less probable than getting hitting the lottery.

Planes = much safer than cars. I don't worry at all, there's more of a chance of dying in a car crash.

I've never been on a plane, but the odds of mine being hijacked are quite low.
