Am I teh stupid? Ya mean DVDRW drives need software?

I thought I could fire up the old Nero 5.5. Are ya telling me I have to upgrade all my software now?

I guess thinking about it, that was a pretty dumb assumption...

I was trying to just drag some files from my hard drive to my DVDRW which has a CD-R in it (using XP Pro). This used to just write to the CD. Does it not work like that now?

Crazy. Spend $100 on the drive, now have to update all my cdrw software

Didn't you get a software w/ the drive purchase? I don't think Nero 5.5 has DVD support (version 6 does, however).

Yeah, you do need the appropriate software for it...

And update all your cdrw software? How many do you have?

DVD burner support should be there as long as your drive is supported.

Cool, I was running Nero 5.5.5, my burner (NEC 1300) was supported in 5.5.10, so just have to update. Site is down right now though

What about XP though, can I do the drag/drop burning like I used to be able to?

nero 5.5.10.0 works great with the 2 dvd burners i have (a liteon and an MSI )
