It already costed me $58 even though they are just shaving it all off since his hair has become a mat.

Am I supposed to give the lady a tip on top of this?? If so, how much? I'm so broke..
My dog is at Petsmart getting it all shaved off now

Yes, tell her to get an education so she doesn't have to have such a crap job.

Yes, you should tip (unless they have a policy that specifically prohibits tipping). Think about the effort involved in cutting a person's hair. Now imagine that over an entire dog body. Even just a shave is a royal pain in the ass, because dogs, by and large, don't actually want their hair taken off. My girlfriend worked at a dog groomers for some time while she was in high school, and she has nightmare stories about dogs biting her, pulling her around, shitting on her, etc. It's not a pleasant experience, and $58 is really not that much (considering you probably won't get it done again for a long time). Give ten bucks extra. Unless you really can't afford it, in which case, screw it.

Yes. Tip everyone. Tip me for responding to your thread. Tip me again for reading your thread. Tip your mail man for each piece of mail delivered. Tip everyone who sends you an email. Tip the guy that bags your groceries. Tip the person in the parking lot bringing the grocery carts back. Tip your auto mechanic. Tip the person at the drive through window.

I wish people would stop tipping for stupid shit. It's their job. Waiter/Waitresses should be tipped as they are not paid a standard wage and rely on tips. Tip a cab driver, valet....that's really it. At least all that I can think of at the moment.

I don't understand the tipping of a barber. It takes 5 minutes max to cut my hair. I get charged about $12. That's a rate of $144 an hour. That's pretty good IMO. This is speaking of privately owned by the person doing it though.

Edit: Stupid fusetalk.

Also I would tip bellhops and any concierge who is particularly helpful when staying at a hotel.

Seeing tip jars with snarky crap written on them makes me not want to shop in some places.
