Am I screwed?

I just put new parts in my computer, at first it started to mess up and not boot and when it did the video wouldn't come up. But I hit the side of the computer and checked the wires and it started working. It boots fine and is fast as hell but when I go to install some games a blue screen pops up and says an error occured and it could do with hardware. But my hardware is all in right and I checked them twice. I have no clue what the problem is... And I just reformatted I'm running:

Windows XP Home Edition
Convent 512 PC2700
Nvidia 6600GT 128 8x aGP
AMD Athlon 3000+ 64-bit
Maxtor 60gig 7200RPM HDD
Chaintech Nforce3-250


Can somone please help me?

Oh and my PSU is a Antec 300W

I can install Call of Duty but nothing else so far will install...

hmm, using a 300w psu with that system is probably pushing it, even if it's an Antec..also what are your temps like? I would run Memtest to check your ram. Since you are using PC2700, did you make sure you aren't overclocking your ram?

My ram deff isn't overclocked, and a friend of mine said Antec 300W would be fine for my system. My temps for my CPU is 50 Degree's and my whole system is like 27 or summin like that.

More on detail of the error message. It said for me to get windows updates or disable and/or check all new hardware... My conly new hardware is my mobo and PSU... PLEASE HELP!?!?!?

Did you reinstall Windows or repair your installation when you installed the new hardware? If not, I'm not sure that it will work properly (though it's been too long since I got new hardware to recall for sure). I would also recommend going in and making sure everything is connected properly. Take it out and put it back in place, making sure everything is firmly attached. Make sure your motherboard is put in place on the case standoffs to prevent shorting. Hitting the side of your case (or, as I like to call it, the 'technical tap') having an effect indicates to me that something is loose.

Go into bios and check to make sure that your ram isn't automaticly being overclocked to pc3200 or somthing. I'm not sure about that brand either. I'd run memtest.

Ok, I'm reinstalling windows right now, I'll do memtest tonight and if all else fails ill take my comp apart and put it back together. If none of that work then IDK.

Infact I JUST did... Still got the error... So I unplugged everything and took everything out except the motherboard and put some thermal paste on my CPU the temps are 43C instead of 50 now. I havn't got an error yet but it seems to only happen when somthing is installing. So we will see after i install a game.
