I have a SCSI hdd, but an IDE based motherboard. IS there any possible way I can get it to work? Are the 2 compatible? Thanks in advance.

Well I didn't really care to purchase anything. I simply removed the drive from a computer at work because I constantly get a disk boot error when trying to get XP to run from the CD-ROM. I figured I would removed the drive and try hooking it up to my home computer to format it and that's where I ran into the SCSI IDE problem.

omfg, grrr

By boot disk error, do you mean the Windows XP installation cd will not boot in your cd-rom drive? Or do you get to the point in the install and it can't find the HDD. Or do you succesfully install XP and it just doesn't boot up on the programed restart in the XP installation?

sure why not? if its not for mission critical stuff then we use them. Just dont get to mad when they fail.

we had some SCSI drives that were ancient! but they kept chugging away.

Stupid question eh? Have you never asked a question in regards to something you didn't quite understand?...

I apologize if you are God, but I didn't think you knew everything!

And for the number, the mods didn't move it to the correct forum....... they deleted it. I posted it again under Technical Support after realizing you were just here to nef and be of no help whatsoever.
