Hi guys!

I made a post a couple of days ago about overclocking my A64 3700 SD to 2.7ghz, well im back to tell u that it was a success getting it at my target speed!! I just wanna know if its safe running at 1.4 volts? and its not gonna damage the chip in long term use? I feel as if i can go yet again higher but i dont wanna push my luck! im perfectly happy with 2.7, maybe in the future.

Temps:

38 Idle
46 Load

1.4V is fine for SanDiego, and those temps are very good too, highest i get is 44 on load, and im way lower down the food chain than your cpu

stock cooling?

1.4v for 2.7ghz is awesome. I wouldn't worry about it at all, considering thats pretty much stock voltage :D. Nice temps too, good job.

Stock voltage for those chips is 1.35v - 1.4v, so really ur running at stock voltage. Thats a good overclock, u using the stock cooler?
If its is a stock one thats great temps for it, cause aftermarket ones can cool better.

Its on a coolermaster hyper48 w/ stock 92mm fan. Is it unsual for a 3700SD to run at 2.7ghz on 1.4v at 38idle,46load?

Nope. I did it with my 4000+ SD too. :)

Kool! But the 4000s are clocked higher at stock arent they? so u should go even higher than 2.7!? Im gonna see how much higher it will go, i havnt hit a wall yet ;) My mobos HTT limit it 255mhz (currently running at 246x11), it doesnt like anything above that. Give me your predictions! at what speed do u think ill crash at? Do you thinnk ill get to FX57 speeds??

You're pretty much at FX-57 speeds. You could try pushing it to 255 x 11 which I think is 2.8ghz. If you have to bump the voltage up by a significant amount (like 0.1v) then I would suggest you stay at 2.7ghz. Dam lucky....lol

Heh thats my only problem, I cant increase the voltage any more (1.4 max). This mobo is very limited when it comes to vcore :(. Do you think its worth buying faster RAM eg PC4000 to run in sync with the HTT (no dividers) cos i dont like the RAM being underclocked at 193mhz.
