Am I sadistic?

A few days ago, while leaving the house, I notice a gigantic spider about the size of my toe sitting in the middle of a large web.

I gingerly walk around the house and captured a small grasshopper. I than fed it to the spider by mimic the way a grasshopper jump into the web. I was mesmerized by how fast the spider cover the grasshopper in its web and then move back to the center of the web. I guess he'll eat it later.

I managed to feed the spider again later that day with a camel cricket. The web was gone the next day. 🙁

Do you guys get excited doing the same thing?

I got excited when I took out a rat in the backyard with a pellet gun Saturday and I don't consider myself a sadistic person. So I'd say your good 😉 😀.



(BTW, our backyard is a semi-wooded place with a full on nursery (trees/shrubs) behind it and the rats happen by occassionally, not a dirty place or anything)

But I do make an exception when it comes to feeding a spider...so freakin' cool.

I kill the spiders... nasty things, god I hate them. It just recently got warmish enough for the abominations to hatch and the baby ones are *everywhere*, I kill probably 4-5 a day.

I kill the black widows I find in my house.
The rest of the spiders I usually leave alone.

Insects don't scare the bejeezus out of me 😛

My motto: If it has more than four legs: squiiish. I don't have my house sprayed regularly to kill the ones I can't see, but if they're dumb enough to come out where I can see them, they're toast.
