Am I right or am I right?

As I walk this land of broken dreams,
I have visions of many things.
Love's happiness is just an illusion,
Filled with sadness and confusion.
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Maybe.
The fruits of love grow all around
But for me they come a tumblin' down.
Every day heartaches grow a little stronger,
I can't stand this pain much longer!
I walk in shadows,
Searching for light.
Cold and alone,
No comfort in sight.
Hoping and praying for someone to care,
Always moving and goin' nowhere.
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find,
Some kind of peace of mind.
Help me..
I'm searching though I don't succeed,
For someone's love, there's a growing need.
Oh, he is lost, there's no place for beginning,
All that's left is an unhappy ending.
Now what becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find,
Some kind of peace of mind,
I'll be searching everywhere,
Just to find someone to care.
I'll be looking everyday,
I know I'm gonna find a way.
Nothings gonna stop me now,
I'll find a way somehow.
I'll be searching everywhere...

I remember hearing this song years ago and flippin' a lid because it was so good and relevant to me.

Shit yeah.

Oh and tonight, not as bad as last night. Things have changed in a few ways. And, it was relevant to my "Happy thought" thread.

You need develop schizophrenia and learn to have engaging and passionate conversations with yourself. If you can do that, you'll never need another voice of comfort.

Pretty good at that already. But the problem is that I know everything I am going to say. Eventually it goes into hyper drive and I fall into just raw data because I bypass speaking. It's not as good as conversations with people I like.

Then you're not doing it right. You need to take the rare one minute conversations you have in real life and extrapolate it into a being you are intimately familiar with. Or do something wrong and then imagine that your father is there and deriding you for it. Or imagine being interviewed on television with some reporter performing symbolic fellatio on your mind, asking you every triviality of your life with heartfelt interest and you being able to answer.

Does the perspective jump from first to third person? Otherwise it makes it sound like lyrics about losing a male love interest are relatable to you.

It jumps perspective. It's from the 1960s, no one was gay then.

There were lots of gay people in the 60's. They just weren't homosexual.

The word "gay" hadn't been co-opted by the homosexual community back then. (and there were lots of homosexuals back then too...but they were called "queers," not gays.)

it's beautiful... the idea that we can feel such emotions... it's beautiful..

just always remember contrast.. if's possible to feel that bad, it's possible to feel the opposite...
