Am I overstepping here?

After reading Paulson's latest, and Red's 'contribution' I have this quote in the reply window. I will post or not post based on the first three replies, yes or no.

Grr....

Red, what's up with your schit?
You "know" Paulson annoys you by "pimping" RC5.
So why the self-flagellation? JUST READ SOMETHING ELSE.
I have read your posts for years, and have some respect for your contributions.
You are in tune enough to realize that DPC are raping TA. When an Elite puts down the effort like you do, it keeps prospectives on the fence at best, and dissuades them at worst. What is so f'ing wrong with the best hardware site's forum members having the best distributed computing teams? "You don't care if it is for Anandtech." Well screw you. Just because "your house gets too hot running RC5" is a piss-poor excuse to interfere with the goal. Distributed computing is not for everybody, clearly, but even a word from you in support of this effort might have a positive impact on this endeavor. If that is too much to ask, then would it be too much to ask that you not diminish the project and the people who do enjoy it?[/endquote]

I think I am being far too nice...

I don't think you need anyones approval to speak your mind in the Off Topic forum. Everybody does. Besides, Red can take it. Just be ready for his response.🙂

err ,well you might want to leave out this bit! 😉

>>>Well screw you<<<

That kinda detracts from your otherwise good points.
Of course it's your choice

Assimilator:
Too late. And with Red, crass is fine. His crassitude (crassitivity? crassity? crassitudity?..ummm....bluntness) is hard to beat.

Paulson:
Not really doing it to back you up. Not exactly. It is more what I said, I think his attitude is inappropriate. You simply started a post I support, and he defiled it.

Did he say cracking RC5 made his house too hot? I must of missed that one. I've been reading the Paulson and Red Dawn exchanges so long I can't honestly take anything about them seriously any more 😛

If that's true about warming up the house though you might try that angle starting in November, Paulson 😉

Yeah, he said that. While I have not joined TA yet, (I will, sort of waiting for someone to coordinate a megaflush of our own) in the thread of Paulson's that captured my interest about 6 weeks ago, he defended his decision to not crack because his three computers heated up his house and he did not want to run a/c 24/7. He did say however, to his credit, that he had installed it on his mother's machine, to help out a little.

<< Has anyone tried to install it on the computers in stores (w/connections to the Internet)? >>

Sure. I'm sitting in one right now.😀

Heh, well that's cool Russ, but I did mean like at Staples, Best Buy, Circuit City... ?

BTW Russ, how many machines do you have working on this??

Yo_Ma-Ma,

I think that would be a problem because a) It would be hard to find an employee who even had an idea what you were talking about and, b) If you did, the corporate-boy manager would probably freak out.🙂

EDIT: Click the link in my sig, and go to the Integrals page.

Green Beret:
Thanks, that was an attempt to 'soften' the severity of the accusation through diversion. After all, I don't dislike anyone here.

I dont know but I dont trust paulson to "Handle" much of anything yet as he has improved just not to a level where he can make that statement.

nothing agenst you paulson just my 2 cents
