Am I overclocking my video card too much?

I have a 6600 vanilla and im overcloking it to 403 and the memory to 590. stock clock is like 300 I believe with the memory at 500. Is that too much?

If your system restarts/hangs/gets artifacts/dies then yes. Otherwise no

just get coolbits 2.0 and have it detect the max freqency
usally I lower it by 10mhz

If your card has ramsinks on the memory you are golden.

If it does not, that memory will slow roast until it fails, there is no thermal throttling for memory on video cards.
