Not much hope or change for brother George

I am truly pathetic.

How can we expect people to defend McCain who cheated on his disfigured wife and then divorced her so that he could be the kept poodle of an uber rich, drug addled bimbo when we advance this type of side-sho personal slur as disqualifying Obama?

I am one huge hypocrit.

Fixed. In fact, extensively repaired and made right. ;)

ASSHAT... where did I EVER SAY I supported MCCAIN?

I'm sorry. I must have missed your many posts pointing out far worse and more recent adult missteps by McCain.

Links to them, please?

What's worse than letting your brother live homeless or in poverty?

His brother is still in poverty so it's not recent. It's CURRENT!

Please do not deflect the topic of Obama by bringing up MCCAIN.

Interesting that the OP didn't seem to read his 2nd link where George denies media reports that he is in poverty.

But reports surfaced in the past few days, springing from an Italian Vanity Fair article saying George Obama is living in a shack and "earning less than a dollar a day."

The reports left him angry.

"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything.

"I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges," Obama said.

Obama, who is in his mid-20s, is learning to become a mechanic and is active in youth groups in Huruma. He said he tries to help the community as much as he can.

Look at the shack in the background.

Look at the lack of a smile.

Look at his eyes...do they tell you nothing?

I truly think this is pathetic.

How can we expect this guy to lead when he can't take care of his family.

Not more pathetic than your post and personal attack of BHO.

I think it's truly pathetic that you interfere with personal family matter.

It's no different than butting your nose into the bedroom to see where Baracks pecker is going in female or male.

Please leave America immedately to a country more suited to your ways.

What is pathetic about this? He's met the guy twice. I have two half siblings I've never met - if I found out they were living in a box, it wouldn't affect me more than any other homeless person.

The explanation is simple. GoPackGo is still adjusting to live without Favre on the Green Bay Packers. Poor fella. Gotta watch #4 play for the pathetic NY Jest.

I know what a way for an Icon to go out.

He didn't learn from Marino and Elway.

Car dealerships, restaurants etc FTW.

The cheese must have got to Brett's head.

I smell an advert using this info.
Amazing that this got out.

If I was a millionaire I'd do more to help my family members -- certainly a blood relative.

It is sad really. I grew up a Dolphins fan and my favorite QB is Marino but if someone had to break his records I"m glad it was Favre. Wouldn't mind Manning (Peyton) either. With Favre and the Packers there's plenty of blame to go around. I just have to ask, 'Why Brett? Why the Jets? Why!?'

Maybe Obama could turn this around by addressing this fact and using it as an example of why men need to do a better job of living up to their responsibilities.

While the problem is more frequent among African-Americans, it's not exclusive enough to justify you calling it a 'black problem'. Just call it the irresponsible father problem.

If you want to discuss the disproportionate racial aspect, you would need to get informed about the causes of that, which you have shown no willingness to do.

Either way, as Vic already pointed out Obama did address this issue in a speach in front of the NAACP. The one that landed him in hot water with Jesse Jackass.

Of course, there's this from that same article:

The New York Post reported that other members of Senator Obama's extended family have remained close. He and half-brother Malik, a Kenyan accountant, were the best man at each other's weddings.

So you're point seems to be that if there's ANY member of a politician's extended family that the politician doesn't keep close contact with (even a half-sibling who lives in a foreign land and whom the politician didn't know existed until the politician was in his twenties) - despite the existence of close contact with all other members of the extended family - that means the politician is "seeking power for the sake of seeking power and nothing more".

Very persuasive.

Edit: There's also this from the second article:

"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he [George Obama] said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything."
So we have the right-wing criticizing BHO on what grounds exactly? Maybe they want Barak to bring George to the U.S., where he can live a better life? No, no. Can't do that. Then the right would accuse Barak of using his position and privilege to get around the immigration laws. Maybe they want Barak to visit his Kenyan relatives frequently, a week once a year, say? No, no. Can't do that. Then the right would say that Barak is spending too much time away from his primary responsibility, America. And if Barak somehow manages to maintain really close ties with all of his extended family, and one of them does something illegal or unethical, I have a feeling the right will criticize Barak for having close ties to that extended family member.

Somehow, I think the right is going to find reasons for criticizing BHO regardless of what he does.

Queue the obamabots calling you a liar for posting this. Plus this is meaningless, it speaks nothing about his character. Plus it's nobodies business. Plus you just "owned yourself" like so many people on here like to say. "plus anyone who thinks this matters is an idiot". Plus "Hahahahahaahahahaa rofl I cant think of anything intelligent to say so i'll pretend it's funny that you even posted this lolololol".

There, now with that out of the way, we can have an intelligent debate?

My take? I think it speaks to his character more than anything, but we really dont' know what went on between them and I don't think we ever will. Obviously though, he doesn't think much of brotherhood.

I am Mccains half cousin and I live in student poverty, its a shame McCain lets me live like this.

Oh Im sorry, you wanted an intelligent debate with the McCain boys regarding an article of some idiot who has the last name of Obama trying to get his 15 minutes.

Please, continue.

Tool...this isn't just "some idiot who has the last name of Obama" this is is half brother

But then again, how he treats his family members is of no value.

Was he suppose to drop everything and go embrace some guy who claims to be his half brother our of no where? Reminds me of those stories of family members you never knew you had coming out of the closet when you win millions

I think this is one of the most golden nuggets full of :laughs; I've seen you guys post.

Whats even better, is the links you posted, you didn't even read

"poor George, Obama isn't taking care of him!" <--GoPackGo and Supporters

"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything." <-George

""I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges," Obama said." <--George

The only people asking for money are the greedy ass neighbors and you guys

"I would like Obama to visit his brother to see how he is living, to improve his way of life," said Emelda Negei, who runs a small dispensary near Obama's house.

But George Obama will have none of it. He draws inspiration from his famous half-brother

Seriously, get out of here with this, its pathetic. Next time try reading the link before you throw it up so quickly, you might realize its not the "omg Obama is dooooomed" you think it is, if anything, it shows resilliance runs in the family, and a drive to never quit is there as well, good traits I think.

How many of you Obama bashing folks have half-brothers you've met once in your entire life? If the number is greater than zero, which I doubt, how many of you would use the words "half brother" and "brother" interchangeably to describe them, and how many of you would consider them "family" in the same way you consider your parents or close siblings family?

This is a typically ham-fisted Republican campaign story, and the way you can tell is who posted it and who supports it.
