Not really. Bunch of my friends once had a LAN party at this rich kids house. There were about 20-25 of us, and none of us were typical geeks. Ranging from art students, to HS football stars, to just ordinary kids. We played CS, SOF2, setup 16 and 8 player Halo. Also had some other games going. Was an awesome time.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Hell no. If I didn't lose most everything in a HDD crash, I'd show you a Xbox party I attended last year. There were as many girls as guys there.
