With the completion of my video gaming platform(Its not Uber, but I made it the way I wanted it), Im suddenly not very interested in games anymore. Im tired of shooting Nazis, Zombies, Aliens, Terrorists, Counter-Terrorists, Engineers, Demo-Guys, Medics, Covenant. Im tired of farming, Mining, building armies and attacking. Im tired of paying to play, Im tired of fighting. I was really really really looking forward to this year when I would have my computer completed, and suddenly now that its completed, Im lacking any energy to play the games I drooled on and waited for. I think Im really tired of spending 50$ and not getting more than 20 hours out of a game.

Is there anyone else out there? Or am I all alone going crazy?

I feel that way about first-person shooters sometimes, but there are always good role-playing games (Fallout 1-2, Planescape:Torment, etc.), squad-level tactical combat (Jagged Alliance 2, the upcoming UFO Aftermath), space shooters (still need to get Freespace 2), mech games (haven't played Mechwarrior 4 yet) etc. etc.

Perhaps you just need to try some new genres and/or get some of the old classics that aren't as pretty as this weeks' flavor but whcih have the solid game design that made them so well-liked.

Perhaps you are now a 'pacifist'(oppose war or violence).

All kidding aside I agree with Dave S., maybe try something different because it sounds like you are bored.

Take a break. Couple months later, try gaming again. That usually works for me.

get a copy of system shock 2 for cheap

wet your pants, change them, feel relieved that $5 shook you up and gave you something to do

try different genres where fighting isnt the idea. sim city 4 looks good

ive found i enjoy shoots when i play with people i know, a clan, something like that. maybe you just need to go outside for a bit, read a book, make fun of people at starbucks, and then youll want to be at the computer again just in time for half life 2 and doom 3 :D

Nope, you aren't crazy. There just isn't much to get excited about on the PC. Until Halo (multiplayer) came out, I haven't played a PC game in months.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming out soon... That'll be 30-60 hours of sheer gaming enjoyment! :)

waiting for that one myself, looks great
im currently half-addicted to enemy territory, i dont play it to 1 in the morning in 2-4 hour shots now, but i still play it alot. wouldnt play it without a clan and a clan server though, but with a good team its a very good game for free :)
