Myself and the woman are getting hitched next year and until she is making cash about a year later we'll need a car. I had my mind set on something nice with some power but after discussing it we may actually lease/buy an echo...The good news of course is that a year later she'll be making money and it is understood she will be driving the echo (she volunteered hehe) and I can get something even nicer than what I would have been buying next year.

BTW this is gonna be a mutual decision, I'm not pussy-whipped THAT bad. And neither of us think these cars are attractive; butt-fugly, but they are cheap, practical, great on gas, and actually quite peppy in the manual.

It's not such a bad car to drive. I had one for a while when my own car met up with the front of a Jetta.

Pros:
Decent power, good handling, fair ride. Oh, and absolutely excellent on gas.

Cons:
Looks, for damned sure. And I'm not quite sure what's up with the centred dash readout...

Hell, go for it. I bet St. Peter drives a Japanese car himself. ;)

Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

I'm not too keen on American cars, but I'd look into a Ford Focus. Along with the more expensive sentra, they are probably the best budget cars on the road now.
