I'm wanting to build a new gaming rig over christmas break. I have compiled a list of items I want to purchase, most top brand and popular....but with what I'm wanting, am I setting myself up? Am I looking for trouble w/ this setup?

Case: CoolerMasters ATC-200
PSU: Enermax 431W w/ dual fans
CPU: AMD AthlonXP +1600 1.4GHz
Cooling: SVC Golden Gate w/ Delta fan
Motherboard: EPoX EP8KHA+
Memory: 512MB Crucial CAS2.5 PC2100 DDR
Video Card: Visiontek GeForce3
Hard Drive: 40GB IBM Deskstar 60GXP
Monitor: NEC FE950+BK
Sound Card: SB Live! 5.1 PCI
Speakers: Klipsch Promedia 2.1
CD-RW: TEAC Black 24/10/40

Let me know if there are any incompatibilites that I should know of so I may get help in appropriate forum.

No real troubles to speak of, but I'd probably not choose an IBM HD at this time and I'd change the soundcard to either an Audigy, TB SC, Hercules GTXP, or Phillips AE.

Looks good

And as to be on safe side avoid IBM for a while until the PROVE their drive are of teh HIGHEST quality

I also reccomend the Hercules Fortissimo 2 for a substitute Sound Card

I don't believe there's anything major that makes 60GXPs any more unreliable than a Maxtor or Seagate or WD. I wouldn't worry about it, I know a lot of people around the forum, including myself, are running 60GXPs without issues. It's certainly not suffering from the issues the 75 did...
