used 360 core, dvd drive is malfunctioning, never been opened...for $200
comes with hook ups and wired controller.
im buying an hd-dvd drive anyway, so i can still game on it.

but if its under a year old will microsoft fix it free of charge?
and if i decide not to keep it can i sell it for $200+ shipping easily?

I do not think that you can play games with the HD DVD drives, only watch movies.

One Year Express Warranty on Console.
Subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty, Microsoft warrants to you only (the original retail purchaser) that, during the Warranty Period and under normal use and service, the Xbox® Console will substantially conform with the printed user instruction materials packaged with the Console.

And another thing, if it has never been opened (used 360 core, dvd drive is malfunctioning, never been opened...for $200), how do you know the disc drive is malfunctioning?

EDIT: My advice, pass and pay the extra $200 for a working "Premium", or whatever the better package is.

I think he means the console itself was never opened.
I do agree though, save the money and get a new one.

I'd say you're getting a poor deal. It might be an okay deal at best if you knew how to and replaced the drive yourself.

Microcenter had these new for $199 after rebate. You should wait, otherwise buy new.
