There is no such thing as a V4. The Camry has an I (inline) 4.

$5900 seems like an awesome deal for only 55,000 miles, almost too good.

Don't take it to Pep Boys, take it to a real mechanic shop, tell them you're considering buying it and to find out if there's any reason you shouldn't.

With what?!?! Whatever you do, do not take it to pepboys at stated above - take it to your local Toyota Dealer or a trusted mechanic (preferably the latter)

That's a decent price but you might be able to find better.

Here's what I found in my local newspaper
96 TOYOTA CAMRY LE, 4cyl, 48K, AT, CD, gold color, great condition! $6900, 503-xxx-xxxx

Low miles, LE model, automatic for only $6900 :)

i did the carfax already its clean

i am a bit suspicious coz its almost 1k less than the kbb value

i just took a long test drive, it seems good enuf

the showroom is a place which sells all imports, bmw's and mercedes mostly and the guy i talked to said they want to get rid of it coz they dont want it seen with their top end cars and also since it was part of a trade in,

Totally. Never take a car to Pep Boys, and in general, avoid national auto repair chains, except for tires (but shop the independents for tires too, you'd be surprised), oil changes, and batteries, or unless you know the manager at the location you're going to, and you know he runs a good shop.

If you start taking your Toyota to Pep Boys on a regular basis, it will eventually be doomed because they'll replace all those Toyota parts with the same shatty immitation parts and shoddily rebuilt replacements that they sell in the store.

My girlfriend went in for 3 power steering racks at Pep Boys a few years ago, until the service manager said Fvck it, and ordered a replacement part from Napa, on Pep Boys' warranty dime! The car (an 88 Le Sabre, suffering from the GM power steering syndrome that was common back then) has been fine ever since.

At any rate, that does sound like a pretty good deal for the Camry.
