My W-2 form shows 55.22 in federal income tax withheld, 186.21 in SS tax withheld and 43.55 in Medicare tax withheld. Since I am international student..I guess I can get all these $$ back, am I correct? But my E-file only shows $55 overpaid.......mmm....what am I doing wrong?

Anyway, even as a foreign student, I don't think you get SS or Medicare back. I could be wrong...

Damn...then I am only getting $55 bucks back :(
Maybe it's not worth the hassle of filing my tax then....
Should I still do it even if I don't really want that $55?

Uh, I think you have to file your taxes, even if you are getting everything back. What is the worse that could happen? Well, the IRS could audit you and find out that they owe you money. However, they might still be pissed, take the money away, and deport you. Its your call.

you dont have to file really, since you did pay enought tax and then some. but if you really want the 55 bucks, then find a free online filing place and do it, no more than maybe one hour tops.

if i recall correctly, if you are positive you're getting a refund, it's not illegal.

edit: man. im slow.. :(

and remember reading also that you can still get your refund if you decide years later (not sure what the max is) you want it.

Ok, I think I am going to do it. If it comes back, great! If it doesn't....well..
The address shows on my W2 form was the previous address....should I use the new address when e-filing? Or should I stick with the old one?

Uh.. lol

Unless you want it sent to your old address, you have to use your new one.
