Am I doing enough to protect agaist Spyware and Viruses?

Should I do more to keep my computer protected or is this enough? I hsven't had any troubles so far but I don't want to in the future either.

I use nothing, and I haven't gotten anything. If anything, you have too much protection. Biggest virus threat of the year was a mass-email worm that requires you to download the attachment, and you wouldn't do anything like that would you? It's all paranoia.

No harm in scanning from time to time - I use Microsoft Anti-Spyware and Antivir mainly. If you're worried about still getting caught out by spyware etc you should use a limited user account which will also help.

Or practice safe web surfing. I've never gotten spyware or virii because I don't go to sites I shouldn't go to, I don't download attachments in emails, and I don't do anything stupid like use kazaa to illegally download crap. As far as I'm concerned, you get what you deserve if you do that.

whatever, I regard it as good practice to have AV and Anti-Spyware running, as well as using a limited user account. I don't use Kazaa or visit 'dodgy' sites but I'm just happier knowing they are running.

I don't use any real-time protection at all for spyware. I do suggest using stuff like SpywareBlaster, though. It doesn't have to run in the background and it helps prevent spyware. Why wouldn't you use it?

Avast! works well, but I found Spybot didn't work for some Spyware. It would detect spyware, but couldn't remove a few it detected.

I recommend Microsofts for spyware removal and real-time protection.

I'll probably try that when my Spyware Sweeper license runs out. Hopefully it works as well as Spyware Sweeper, which saved my butt after going on the net without a Firewall! 😱 😀

Quick scans once every few months to prove my arrogance.

I do the same, got tired of virus scanners and stuff never finding anything, so I run without, except for the occasional checkup.
The only stuff I do get is due to Java, which I have turned off in Firefox, so that's not too much of an issue.
