Looks pretty good for a 69. I've dealt with alot of old RV's like this and this one is in very good shape.

It does look like it's in great shape, but man, powered by the old 300 straight six? It'll run forever and a day, but it ain't going to move very quickly.

It's in great shape considering it's almost 50 years old but $8500 seems like a lot. What did it cost new - about half that?

Any details as to why you are considering this? Actually using it for trips?
I could only assume you realize something newer is a better bet if you're going to actually travel in it.

I'd like to take it on trips. Newer would probably be better, but most newer ones just don't have the character I enjoy. My 2 cars are '68 and '87, so I have experience with older vehicles, however, zero experience with RVs. I'm not sure what types of things to look out for with them.

Plumbing. An RV is a truck with plumbing.

Plumbing. An RV is a truck with plumbing.

This. Plumbing is the one that will render an RV as useless. Make sure all the holding tanks work properly(water, grey water, black water) Check anything that will put out water, check for hard water residue, mold, and water damage(usually around the ceiling vents). If you live in cold climates where it freezes then you will need to winterize it every year, which means flushing the lines and holding tank or adding some antifreeze to it. Climb up on top of it and check the roof for any damages or patches.
