am i crazy, or is my SO crazy??

ok, so this morning my SO was making breakfast, bagels to be exact. And i guess she was watching the news or something and the bagels got burned. So she then takes the bagels out of the toaster and walks towards the garbage to throw it. I see her walking towards it, and stopped her and took the bagel out of her hand. And she was like "what are you doing, the bagels are burnt." I just took the bagels went over the sink and started scraping the burnt part. As i was scraping the burnt parts, my SO was giving me these wierd looks and telling me im a bum. After i was done, she was like "if you ever do that again, i will have to leave your broke self"... so yeah, i mean, wtf, they were perfectly good bagels, and ill be damned to waste food.

Cliffs:
1. SO burnt bagels
2. i prevent her from throwing it out, and begin to scrap the burnt part off
3. she calls me a bum
4. she threatens to leave me

she was being irrational. you were fine to do what you did if you don't mind eating bagles in that condition.
 
Food = good. Throwing food away = bad. I make good money and I don't throw perfectly good food away.

BTW, I'm not even near you and my PMS meter is going off something fierce. Is this a possibility?
 
I see no problem in what you did. If I were you, I wouldn't put up with that sort of talk from her. She has no right to treat you that way.

only the top of the bagel was burnt.. and after scraping the burnt parts off, they looked perfectly fine..

You just have to ignore her and chalk it up to the folly of the female species. Most women are very particular about their food. It has to be perfect or it is not fit for them. This is understandable if they are pregnant but it is always like that.

Men never waste food. I always eat the food my wife is about to throw away.
 
Should have told her that there are kids in Bangladesh who would kill for that bagel. By the way, her comment makes her sound like someone who undesireable to be with

Bah, my wife did this a while ago. She mad some garlic bread, but over cooked it in the oven. She was all set to throw it away, when I stopped her and scrapped off the burnt portions. Strangely enough my wife thanked me. The bread was fine after the carbon removal.
