i'm sick of companies sending me tons of junk mails daily....

so i started my revenge by taking all the business reply mail envelope and putting junk in them to send them back.
this will cost them 34 cents and support my local postal office.

am i cmmitting mail fraud by doing this? or should i put a note in the envelope that says 'no' instead of junk?

No, its not mail fraud. You simply returning their unsolicited mail. If it costs them money, thats their problem. They cost me time.

Another smart-ass spelling Nazi. Spelling and grammar should be better than they are among the folks who post here, but you don't have to shove his face in it like that.

<< now you call it sarcasm... I call it thread crapping. >>

You need to work on your mind-reading skills. Ms. Cleo is going to jail, perhaps you can find her.

I'm sorry that you misinterpreted my original post, but my intention was NOT to imply that I was saying, "You moron, learn how to spell!" My intention was to give a few people a little chuckle.

Sheesh. Who's the Nazi here?

i work in marketing that does direct mail. we get crap from people like you all the time...you know what we do with it? nothing. we throw it away. it happens enough that it isn't a big deal and if you had any idea how much money we spend on postage each week, .34 isn't that big of a deal. and if one or two people like you send this back each day...we really aren't losing that much money.

but then we get the remove from mailing list replies. we take those...put them into a database and REMOVE their names from the list and they never get anything again. therefore you don't have to waste your time scrapping crap together to send back in.

if you are going to send it back to use with no info, why don't you just put something at least funny in there. the best ones are the ones that talk about how Christ is coming and we all better be prepared, or there is some great conspiracy against all mankind or something. at least give us a chuckle, cause the rest of it never even gets noticed.

Lol, this reminds me of the time when I was a telemarketing manager for Great Expectations and of course we used to send mail to singles. Anyway people would always send me buttons, medals, beer taps, coins and the best one was when this guy cut up the envelope and wrapped it around a brick. The post office actually let it go through and charged us like almost $10.00 in postage which of course I had them remove. Sheesh..........some people. But no you can't get in trouble for that unless it causes harm, such as a bomb or anthrax.

If you really want to jack up their costs, glue each prepaid envelope to a brick, and drop it in the mailbox. :D

It's been done, before. Don't know what current postal regs have to say about this.

hmm.. interesting... i'm going to start cutting up coasters that i made and stuff them in the envelope... and who knows... sunflower seed shells, and condom wrappings comes to mind.

now, if i can get EVERYONE to do it... it'd really cost them. (but probably end up passing the cost to other consumers....)

I just send them back empty. I get them, and shove them back in my mailbox. Little effort on my part.
