For my new PC, I'll be doing this for sound:
Audigy 1 (or 2) Gamer ( is there any dif between gamer and the oem edition. Also is the extra 100 dollars woth it for the platinum edition?)
Altec Lansing 641( the biggest subwoofer I have seen)
Newq platinum equalizer, (I read in a magazine, that it converts 4 channels to make it seem like there are 6 channels, It looks good, but if it does NOTHING then I won't buy it.)
Anything Else?

drop the newq. one of my firends had it, and although it had lots of pretty lights and stuff, it didnt do sh!t. Also, there isnt a difference between audigy gamer/mp3/oem except for the software that comes with it. Audigy 2 is supposed to have higher quality dacs, but that's all i've heard is different. The platinum version comes with a 5.25" panel for additional connectors normally found on the back of the card, and then some. It includes optical input, coaxial digital input, line and headphone controls, microphone inputs... I'll probably get one of these with my next comp, just so i dont have to go underneath my desk just to plug stuff in. Other than that, the cards are all teh same, just additional software or hardware for connectors.
