just because I liked and did well in the two introductory economics courses (micro and macro)

I know economics is pretty easy and most did well in micro and macro... i'm thinking of pursuing it for a degree

I minored in it. It's not too bad, but game theory, managerial, and benefit-cost can be a challenge.

Econ is ok because it gives you a basis for all business majors. What is your first major?

Econ was my second major. I think a lot of the students who are also majoring got the idea it would be as easy as intro macro/micro. The good part about that is that if you can handle your math (and stereotyping from your avatar, you can... haha) and realize things are only going to get harder, you'll be in better shape than a large number of classmates the first few semesters. By the end though, when you're taking econometrics, experimental econ and game theory, everyone else is pretty damn good too.

On a low note, I know a lot of unemployed econ majors. What's your first major?

Be aware that while the intro Micro/Macro sequence is pretty much common sense with graphs, Economics gets rather a lot harder at levels high enough to be useful. What they tell the students where I'm studying(not Economics) is that if you want to do serious Economics you should be a math major and an Econ minor.

Whether or not it would make a good second major depends on what your first major is. If you are doing math or physics or something, it should be quite easy to add it in, and fit well with what you are already doing(there's a reason why Wall Street is crawling with people trained as physicists).

If you are working in something like history or anthropology, econ can actually make a lot of sense(if you fancy economic history or physical anthropology); but are likely to be a fair challenge to work in.

if you like it, go for it.

to answer your question regarding "are you being 'naive?'" perhaps you should also minor in english.

I have a degree in it and it gets a lot harder after the intro courses. stay away from econometrics. game theory can be fun once you get into it.
