Am I being a psycho?

Being in Queens NY I found myself caught in the middle of the blackout.. By 5 PM I was pretty "on edge" and assuming that everything that was going on was due to terrorism.. Since the phones were working I made sure that all of my friends and family were ok by say 8 PM at the latest - I thought that you could never be too careful.. I was able to reach everyone but one of my friends.. I only had her cellphone number and I couldn't call it since the cell networks were all down.. She's not a best friend nor just a casual friend either.. A good friend but not someone that I would go out of the way to contact... When my power went up I shot her a quick email asking if everything was ok and if she was unharmed (not caught in an elevator!)... She's usually on AIM pretty much all day since she has a cable modem - she hasn't read her email nor has she logged on lately and I'm getting worried.. I sent her a quick follow up letter and still no reply - I spoke to her 4 hours before the blackout and were yacking on about DVDs and such and what we'd do over the weekend so I know that she's in the city..So now I'm a bit worried - psychotic or is my concern normal? I'd call her but I don't want her to think that I'm crazy (since I sent her 2 emails already)..Again, she's just a friend and we're both spoken for so I'm not looking for some tail- just concerned if she's alive....

Jeezus- Pick up the phone and call her!
What is the problem if she's your friend?

call the police.

I concur, the electricity has been on for long enough for your friend to be reachable IMO.

Yeah, I probably seem paranoid to some people that are not from around NYC.. I was seriously having 9-11 flashback as I was driving my car and all the lights in the buildings around me and all the traffic lights shut down at once... It was both surreal and scary to me at the same time.. But I know that everyone is OK and that it was just a stupid glitch in the grids - no biggie, but I'm still concerned that she may have gotten into an accident (I was on a busy street - luckily I slammed the breaks and pulled over - I had 20 near miss accidents on my way home.. NYC without traffic lights is insane)..She also lives in a very shady part of NYC (college student) so paranoia creeps in a bit.. But, I know.. I'll chill out, catch a movie and just wait a day or two before assuming that she's in an unpleasant situation..

I did call her network was down.. She is a friend but I don't want to be the kid who's number's listed 20 times on her caller ID display, know what I mean? I also don't want to cross the "concerned" vs. "psycho" line - I think 2 emails plus a phone call may cross that line..

In Michigan, my cable + internet was down 16 hours longer than the power was...but if her phone's not working yet, then I'd give the cops a call on the NON EMERGENCY NUMBER.
