Am I at risk?

Hey gang. I have a question. I live in a fairly new(1 year old) apartment complex. I live in the middle floor of one of the buildings. I live with some roomates, but all my stuff is in my room. I have a laptop, a Panasonic 50" LCD HDtv, Xbox 360, cable modem, router, and a 50 gallon fish tank all in my room. Besides the fishtank, I do have all the other equipment on a somewhat decent power strip(surge protector) but is this stuff still able to be screwed with if a thunderstorm comes along and maybe strikes our building, or strikes near us. With it being a new complex, and me being on the middle floor, do you guys still recommend I disconnect all things from power outlets and disconnect my cable when a storm comes through?

If the apartment was struck you mean? Also, wouldnt you think the apartment was built with lightining rods and stuff?

ive never unplugged anything ina storm in my life, our house was struck by lightning when i was 11, well the lightning rod was hit, which i do beleive are mandatory on nearly everything, nothing happened to anything in the house, i was watching cartoons when it happened, was loud as hell, but everything worked fine, only sign that it happened was the dirt where teh rod went into the ground was kind ablown away like a small bomb went off
