Well I wouldn't BUY one anymore, but they're still pretty good video cards and will play most games fairly well as long as you don't get too aggressive with your settings. Some of the ubergeeks here can probably list 3,000 reasons why they suck, but as long as they're compatible with your system and the games you want to play I don't see any problem with them. I just wouldn't buy one when there are $50 cards out there now that are faster and will have more longevity.

i have a voodoo550o on one of my computers, and a geforce2 mx400 on the another.. and i like the voodoo a lot better. AA rocks

I did just that. I replaced it with an ATI AIW but the 2d is the same quality, no better. Its a huge old cadillac of a card, very well built. I might try it in my other machine but its agp bus is running at 89mz with an asus 6800 DDR right now.

If you are going to use Windows XP as your OS, don't get a voodoo5. Mine sucks in XP, I haven't found any good drivers yet. There won't be any official drivers from 3dfx (duh), so people are cracking them to work with XP.

If you are going to stick with win98, the voodoo5 is awesome. the AA is the best I've seen.
