Am I about to get scammed on eBay?

Won the auction on 7/4/2009 for $10 total.
Received no formal communication from the seller after the auction closed.
Was checking the seller's feedback. Noticed that seller received 4 negative feedback in the past month, but received 250+ positive feedback in the same period.
Decided to pay for the auction on 7/7/2009 (half past midnight) using PayPal through the eBay link.
Still haven't received any formal communication from the seller.
Seller has since changed feedback to private, i.e., can no longer see feedback left from individuals and no longer is selling anything.

I'm going to wait until Saturday to see if the seller sends communication or something, but does it look like I'm out $10?

EDIT: Seller is a PowerSeller.

The signs are all there that this is a scam, but it seems strange that someone would bother to scam for $10.

IIRC, the seller had something like 6100+ feedback.
The seller also sold the same item in previous auctions and received positive feedback from the buyers.

Ah I misread the OP, I thought it said 4 negs after 250 pos feedback, not 4 negs alongside 250 pos in the same period. It looks like maybe the seller is closing up shop and getting rid of the last few items and doesn't have a lot of time, maybe? I'd give it a couple of days.

When i sell stuff i dont normally communicate unless I have to or they send me email asking something.

Okay, I still haven't received any communication from the seller. I sent him a message via eBay asking him about the status of the auction in question. I have noticed he has also changed his feedback back to be viewable by the public.

Because I wanted to see if I could win another auction and combine shipping on both items as allowed by the seller.

No, its been five days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

I waiting for any indication from the seller that the item has been shipped. Tomorrow is Sunday. Nothing will be shipped on Sunday.

The day you paid doesn't count and Saturday isn't a business day.

I e-mailed the seller last Saturday (after the postman delivered mail) asking him what was going on with the shipping. The guy responded that he shipped the items "last week" but didn't specify any day or date.

Its Friday (7/17) now and the item has not yet arrived. My patience is running out.

yeah...I won a phone charger for 95 cents, with free shipping...from china. They never responded to emails, but it showed up 2 weeks later, haha.
