I am turning 18 this February 11th, i am just wondering if i am able to vote for this year's presidential election. the reason i am asking is that i've heard about a november election and a february election and i am kind of confused. thanks

You don't know when the presidential election is?

No, you can't vote. You don't pass the intelligence test.

If illegal aliens and dead people get to vote I don't see why you can't.

In all seriousness I think if you are registered before the actual election date you're good to go. You may even be able to register at the polls. Welcome to citizenry, do the right thing when you get jury duty.

yes you will be able to
i think you can also vote in your states primary elections (used to determine which candidates make the final ballot) while you are 17, provided you will be 18 come november

If there was an intelligence test, we might have had a president that was actually worth a damn in the last quarter century...

I won't turn this into a political flamefest, but 25 years ago was 1983. I'll generically advise I think there has been at least 1 decent president in that time and leave it at that.

You can vote in all elections AFTER you turn 18. Not before. The Pres. election is in November.

You should be able to register now.

The correct answer is that it depends on the laws of the state in which you permanently reside. Google for the Secretary of State of your state, and I'm certain that registration procedures will be readily available.

I do know that 17 year olds are permitted to vote in Ohio Primary elections, provided that the elector will be 18 years old on or before the date of the November General election of the same year. In order to vote in any election in Ohio, you must be registered in the county in which you reside; failing that, you may cast a provisional ballot in your county and precinct of residence, provided that you are registered in any county in the State of Ohio.

So, which state are you in?
