I know there is all this talk about war and not going to war, protests and all that but here is the deal, after hearing all this sometimes i feel like..hey I need a job, i like getting paid being able to buy stuff and pay bills, i like lower gas prices, i wish our economy was better.. and if getting this war over with is going to improve the economy, help me keep my job and lower gas prices then lets get it over with. Even if there is a small chance for this to happen by going to war then im all for it, cuz honestly i need to feed my family and keep my job.

yeah this may sound hearltess and selfish, but i know im not the only one thinking this...we all have that self preservation mechnaism inside us, that says...better them than me.

So am i a bad guy for thinking this way after having this war talk, economy talk and politics shoved in our faces everyday by the media?

Why don't you go shoot some people and steal thier stuff. Then you can get a job as a cop investigating it, and you'll be able to pay your bills.

Ok, how about this: Since you're willing to send Americans to Iraq to be bombed, gassed, shot at, and killed in order to keep your job, why don't you send YOUR family over there to die. Then when they get killed, not only will you keep your job, but you'll have more money to spend on yourself, cause you wont have to support them.

I have family going over there, and I am proud as hell. Do you think we should disband all of our armed forces and have other countries walk all over us? I don't understand the liberal point of view on this. Freedom comes at a price, and I thank God everyday for the people who ARE willing to put down there lives so me and my family can live in this great country of ours.

The funny thing is I support the war, but I do think it has become such a big issue because the economy is bad. The recovery is taking longer than the public would like, so this is an issue to distract us. Of course the stories lately seem to suggest that if we go to war and oil prices shoot up, the economy will take a dive.

Regardless we need to show that we have a will behind our statements or the UN is pointless. We've come this far, if we back down and let him keep running this shell game for another decade, we've all lost our credibility. So we give him another month and then go, it's not like Saddam has ever complied accept for when he absolutely has to.

Maybe it's because I don't feel that Iraq is a threat to the freedom of the citizens of the United states.

BoogiMaN - Consider this: Say we do go to war. It helps the economy. You get a good job. years later.... your kids are 18-26. Another war might be starting. You might be losing your job again....

Do you send your kids off to some foreign country to fight for your paycheck?

so your willing to partake of the freedom and not defend it?

This war is a lose lose scenerio..we cant prove that by takign them out we WOULD have been bombed we are fortunetellers. But on the other hand can we prove that by not taking them out we will be safe?

Our fredom has already been stifled after 9/11...we live with the fact that none of us knows for a fact we will make it home tonight safe from a random terrosit attack.

Damn right you are a bad guy... wanting war so you can have economic stability. What the hell is wrong with you? You are no better than Saddam Hussein.

To quote Bob Dylan...

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
...

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Maybe it's because I don't feel that Iraq is a threat to the freedom of the citizens of the United states.

Iraq as a country, isnt a threat to the U.S. But its regimes intentional defiance against creating WOMD and the possibility he would sell these willingly to terrorists for profit and vendetta against the US is at threat. Currently there are two nations who openly do this, Iraq and North Korea. Both seem bent on proving that they arent afraid of the Big Bad US and try openly to push their luck. Both need to be dealt with, whether we like the idea or not, it has to be done. I give my government the benefit of the doubt when they claim to have evidence that they cannot publicly display. When all is said and done, it will boost our economy, but overall it will do something infinitely more important. Stabilize peace, and set a precedent that will show others that playing for time while openly defying the UN will get you nothing but a swift ass kicking. Something that most middle eastern nations need to be reminded of more than their western peers. Until someone comes up with a better way to create a peace in the middle-east, one thats legitimate and will hold, this is the only way for our safety and theirs.
