Am getting weird Horizontal lines in Games

So I was playing Far cr on my PC and whenever thereis sudden movement there are these horizontal lines which come up. The look as if someone just sliced the image witha knife or something. So I ran CS to check for problesm and the same lines again. Am running all games at my monitors native resolution of 1280 X 1024.

Ran Fraps to get a vid cap of it but funny enuff teh vid cap doesnt show the lines at all. They only come in game. Thats just so wierd. Is it the monitor?

Anbody esle seen this behaviour?

Btw I am using Catalyst 6.2 Drivers.

Errr, I think you need to turn vsync on...

Had to do it through CCC under 3D settings.

But problems gone away now.

Man I cant believe I was suffering through that crap.

i never knew why that happens i hate it too... and i dont get why vsync can give perf hits...

i usually notice it on games where i get high FPS.. doom is the biggest culrpit... fear gets it but its not fast doom i can turn vsync on

You're only supposed to get it on games with high FPS, and (from what I understand...) when your screen doesn't support FPS that high, it causes image tearing... So vsync lowers your FPS to your screen's capabilities.... Or something like that...

Doing it this way forces the settings to be used so now its on for all games. I dont use the CCC but I force mine in both 3D and Open Gl.
