Am back from absence: TA Support pages still active and PayPal warning

Hi guys,
I'm still alive and so is my family. As most of you know, my little 4-year old daugther was ill because of infections to her urinal system. It looked as if it all went well, but suddenly all things worsened quickly. It is almost certain now, she has to undergo some medical surgery. There is something wrong with the valves that prevent the urine to flow back into her body. That has to be corrected. On September, 2nd, she will have some medical checkup to see how serious it is. Then we will know more.:heart:

Because of all this, my wife had a physical and partially mental breakdown. She is at home from work now for over 6 weeks and we are still counting. I don't expect her to go back to work before October. 🙁
All this, took its toll from me. Couldn't sleep much and when I was sleeping my daughter woke up (in middle of night) in anxiety.

Last but not least, I lost access for about a month and a half, but that appears to be solved now. My provider mistakely thought I hadn't pay the bills, but it was someone else. That's why I couldn't give you all a status report on my personal and TA's financial status. I can say, there are still some people that are clicking the search box on the front page. Thanx for that. 😀

I expect to get up and running with the TA Support Pages status reports within a week or so. Am going to check up on things this week.

Then a warning for all PayPal users:
Some hacker hijacked my account. First they changed the the security question and answer. Then added another email address. After that they changed the password. Then made the rogue email address the primary one. And changed the password again into something else.

I immediately called PayPal, because first there was some $100 in that account, but secondly [more important] it was linked to my credit card. After a lot of security checks, they confirmed I was the account holder and they immediately blocked the account. Luckily, no transactions were made between the changes and my telephone call. Tomorrow they will send me the info to reactivate my account with changed password and such.

For all PayPal users here: Check your email regularly, as well as your PP account. There are some hackers targeting PP (again).


So, that was that for now. Soon I'll be back up and running. Some machines are again cracking for various projects. Will try and raise the amount before months end.

Hi Peter,

I hope your wife feels better. Your daughter actually has something that is becoming quite common and they have a very non invasive surgery here now where a sugar based flap is created in the Urinary tubes that has an incredibly high cure rate, they are actually quite happily stunned how well the procedure works of around 95% without major surgery is fantastic.

I will post a link to it for you here. She will be fine.

Peter, I am sorry to hear about the downturn of your daughter's condition 🙁

I will be wishing for the best for your daughter, as well as the well-being of yourself and your wife, I can't imagine how hard it must be for you.

Keep us updated. Maybe you can get a consultation with the Doctor on this before her scheduled appointment. Everyday that goes by of having the urine go back up the wrong way into the Kidneys can continue to cause damage to them, the sooner the better to stop that reverse flow so the Kidneys can start healing.

Why would you want to do that Dave? I am just curious is all... I would almost think that more and more people wishing for the best would be a good thing? Or are you talking about locking it up top? 🙂

will try to keep this thread updated myself, so we won't have to try and get in touch with some mod, that is constantly overworked. 😉

Think will follow your advice, Dave, and try to contact the Doctor this week. Have discussed it with my wife, and if necessary (read: if the treatment is not available here in The Netherlands, but it is the best one she can have) we will go to the USA to get her the treatment she needs. I hope, we won't have to come over under those circumstances, but you'll never know. 🙂

Will let you all know, how things develop.

My wife is getting a little better, because she's taking some much needed rest nowadays. The antibiotics for my daughter (the 7th prescription in only 2 months) seems to do some good. She's much more cheerfull and not so much argumentative (yep, for a 4-your old 😉 ) anymore. So, things look a bit brighter than about 3 weeks ago.
