Alvin and the Chipmunks

Hollywood is going to mess this up big time. I can't believe they are actually making a movie they should of left it alone. Transformers was pretty good but still wasn't anything like the cartoons.

The concept of this makes me nervous. I'm old enough to have grown up with Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and Dave on the TV pretty regularly.

I have no doubt they will "rapperize" at least ONE of the Chipmunks so that it has some appeal for that segment of the population.

This made me think of Gabe Newell's #1 reason why there won't be a Half Life movie anytime soon. His comment, given in an interview, on scripts he's been shown for possible movies: "They sucked!" I'm just glad that he's defending the quality of Half Life's universe.
(Now dammit, where's Episode 3?)


I wonder how long it'll be until there's anew Mickey Mouse movie, complete with CGI, or Gone With the Wind II: Wrath of Scarlett.

Rapperize confirmed with the promotional poster All they are missing are some gold chains around their necks and an Escalade on dubs in the background.

Can anyone photoshop that for me?

Who cares? It's not like it was a very good cartoon. It really only deserves a bad movie, like Garfield.

Sigh.... I miss my childhood and the old TV cartoons I grew up watching Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, Garfield, Rockos Modern Life Ren and Stimpy. TV and the new cartoons they put out now a days SUCK BADLY (Except from SpongeBob SquarePants I some how love that show)

I have always HATED Alvin and the Chipmunks. It is the worst cartoon that I can remember from when I was little. He Man, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Thundercats, GI Joe, Transformers, Smurfs, Inspector Gadget and any of the other ones I missed from the early 80s were all infinitely better.

Funny how it used to be that Broadway looked down on Hollywood who looked down on TV while they all looked down on corporate advertising. Now it seems that Hollywood takes their ideas from successful TV shows and packages it with product placement and licensing blitzes and if the resulting movie makes money there will eventually be a Broadway show based on the concept.

Hell, Hollywood is going straight from corporate advertising. After watching "V for Vendetta," doesn't everyone want to run out and buy a JVC TV set?

Props to the studio execs. They knew this movie was a bad idea and would be dumb as hell, so they had to find an even dumber audience to market it to. They managed to find it.
