Hi-

I don't know much about elecricity and conductivity (obviously), but if I want to mount my notherboard onto a metal backing, should I use aluminum or steel or stainless steel, or something else entirely?

Thanks-

They both conduct electricity, so you can use them, but you will need to put standoffs between the motherboard and metal.

edit: if you dont use standoffs, your motherboard will short out.

here are some examples of standoffs:

yeah, material shouldn't matter...since you're not actually screwing the mobo directly to the material...but are rather separating it with standoffs.

so, if you're making something yourself , you can go with aluminum since it's lighter or steel if it's cheaper...
