aluminum computer desks

A while back, AT had a neat review of an awesome lian li computer desk that was made almost entirely of aluminum. Now, I am in the market for a new desk, but I don;t want to lay out 2500 smackers for the lian li. Anyone seen a comparable desk around?

Those did look cool, but I doubt you will find anything that will not end up costing more then it is worth

I saw that one too, and its not what I'm looing for. IF you look at what that guy did (which is still cool btw) he basically just took a piece of ply wood and wrapped aluminum sheeting around it. I am looking for a desktop made from solid 1/4 inch aluminum stock. Yep, it will be heavy, but I'll be damned if it won't look nice.

Call a smith and ask him for an offer. Sometimes craftsmen are surprisingly cheap.
