I'm just about ready to order a lian li or coolermaster case (haven't decided which yet). I have one question though. Obviously most drive faceplates are not aluminum - so do people paint theirs or what? I've never really worried about drive colors in the past but if I'm gonna spring for a good looking case I don't want to spoil it with beige drives.

yes most people paint their cases and drives if they have the time and modded their cases all out with fan holes/grills and the like

some places online sell drives by specific color (for example, I bought a silver/platinum CDRW drive...they also sell black and other common colors and I am sure you can find it at most stores)

I really don't mind the beige on silver contrast. You are going to have conflicting beige/white colors on a normal white case anyway. I think it's looks better with the natural beige on aluminum.
