Altoids...

Ika

Lifer
I'm trying to finish a tin of altoids by next week, but jesus is it hard! I can't eat more than three per minute, and even then my mouth burns like fire. This is a tin of cinnamon altoids. I think my tongue is raw too.

/blog

how many can you eat?

I love cinnamon altoids. I got a couple of tins right around the time BF 1942 came out, so now I associate that curiously strong cinnamon flavor with battling for wake island. 😛

You're making me wanna go and get some. 😎

I didn't know it was possible to associate tastes with stuff... I know it happens with music (i have a certain sonatina associated with Pokemon, and Trapt with Prey 🙂 ), and maybe smells, but taste?

Yeah, try buying them in England, where they are made. We only ge the Mint tins :|

I  Cinnamon and Wintergreen. Don't even get me started about the sours. We don't get them either... :|:|

Why not? Smell and taste are intimately related? Surely you can see how, say, a delicious apple pie might bring you back to grandma's kitchen, etc...

i can see the smell association, but it's hard for me to imagine a taste association. for me, the only real taste association is if I see a big juicy steak.

oh well. I guess i'm just a weird person.

So the obvious question here is....

WTH are you trying to finish a tin of Altoids by next week?

I need to use the tin for a portable DIY headphone amp. I could just take the mints out and put them someplace else, but that would take all the fun out of it 😛

i have an unhealthy addiction to them (but only for peppermint ones). I finish about 2 tins on average a week. i love them.
they are not that bad for you... not that many calories nor grams of sugar.

Wow, that's a lot of mints!

oof, i've been pounding these altoids all night yesterday and all morning today... I thought I still had a million left, but when I looked in the tin it seems like i've owned about half of the mints.

looks like i'm on target!

That's very conservative, considering I know you ate at least 4 tins worth on vacation 😉

I  the peppermint Altoids. Don't care for the Spearmint or Cinnamon ones. Not crazy about the couple of Sours I've tried...(don't like sour stuff..tart is ok, sour is FTL)
