I just took my heatsink off, and found this oily substance on the ceramic around the die. Its like liquid but its not. me thinks its oil. but i am not sure how it got there. i used the thermal compound that came with the swiftech mc462. will this stuff come off?
 
It's grease from the thermal paste. I find using carb and choke cleaner cleans it up good. Finish it off with rubbing alcohol to get rid of any residue left behind.
