alternatives to slk900?

hey, i've been looking for a slk900a cooler, but svc is still out of stock and it's $35 at newegg. i was also looking for the slk800a, but couldn't find it in stock either, at svc or googlegear. any other cooling places to check?

also, my main question is whether there are any good coolers as an alternative to the slk900/800a. i'd like to OC my 2500+ to 2.2ghz, but right now i just have the retail hsf unit (which runs 47C cpu diode on prime95).

What about Here?
I've been dealing with him for years. Very reliable. I recently got an 900a from him. No, there is no substitute for that unit. Slap a nice quiet 92 MM on there and poom, nice.

Here you go. 🙂 I've dealt with Sidewinder before. There are reasons why they have such an excellent reseller rating.

Just received my order from Sidewinder. Im from the UK, I ordered on the 10th, got it today (15th). IMO, thats VERY good service. Cheaper than the UK inclusive of delivery... so Im happy.

so in regards to fans.. i'm thinking 92mm 😀 but if i am planning on OCing to 200mhz fsb.. about what range of CFM should i look for in a fan? it'd be nice to have something <45db

My SLK900A keeps my 1700+ @ 1.5V a stable 44C idle and around 48C load with an 80mm Panaflo L1A.

My 92mm L1A comes along today. I can post results if you like.

You might also check out the new ALX-800 from Thermalright if you're looking to save a few bucks. Reviews have shown that it performs as well as the all-copper 800a!

Right now SVC is selling it for $24.95.
