Buying and selling online is new to me; I've been doing it for a few months now. As of yet, I have had no problems (crossing fingers) with individuals buying from me, or selling to me. I am enjoying myself and saving a lot of money. I have been using PayPal to send money and found it to be adequate for my needs.
When I signed up, I noticed a $5 Sign Up Bonus. To be honest, I thought nothing of it and forgot about it. I'm the kind of guy that could care less about coupons, small MIR rebates, freebies, etc. I'm not made of money, but I could truly care less.
Well, after using PayPal for a while, I was going over my account when I discovered the $5 Sign Up link, under "Enhance Account." I couldn't remember if I had been credited the bonus and clicked on the link. There are four criteria to be met under "Steps to Earn Your New Account Bonus," and my account had apparently only met three of them - the fourth being a single payment of $250. But I had made a payment of over $250 recently. I checked my account history. I had never received the bonus.
Irritated, I fired off an email enquiring as to why. The response was a joke. The moron from PayPal customer service simply sent me the listed requirements and added a fifth, saying I needed to send one payment of $250 from an internationally verified account. I had done that. I wrote them back explaining this. They replied by sending five totally different criteria! I wrote back once more and asked why they listed different requirements. I received their response this evening, a few moments ago. They sent a message identical to the first one! I have emailed them yet again and expressed my irritation with them regarding this matter. I await their (probably retarded) response. That's a total of four emails sent from me and a total of three responses from them - for $5.
I feel I am being given the run-around.
I don't give a rummy rats ass about the money. It's the principle of the matter. It doesn't matter that I am being taken for a ride, but it bothers me that there are probably many others out there whom have been buggered by this company in a similar manner.
My question to you: Are there any reliable, widely-accepted alternatives to PayPal?
Thank, guys, for your taking the time to read this rant. Carry on.
