Alternative to MMC ...

With all the troubles found with ATI MMC software, I tought I'd look for something else to run the TV/ video capture etc. of my TV wonder PCI card.

I found this program...ShowShifter

I just d/l'd it and it seems to run ok. It doesn't have all the featues of the MMC software but it's easy to set up and the video capture quality is great.

I'll have to try it out longer...

Have you tried MMC 7.5?

I gave up on ATI and my TV Wonder about a month ago. Although the TV Wonder was a fine card, ATI's MMC and driver support absolutely sucks. The TV Wonder only worked well under Win98, and they have had plenty of time to get Win2K/XP right and as usual, did not come through. Video quality and capturing under XPis terrible and the card now only captures at Video CD quality where it will do 640x480 under Win98.

I switched over to the AverTV Studio and it works perfectly.
