Hi guys,

I've been using the MS Intellimouse Optical 1.1 for I think over a decade, and over the years I've managed to replace them when they got spoiled due to wear and tear. I have one at work and one at home right now and have been using them for a couple years now, and the left mouse button on the one at work is becoming finicky.

I searched for a replacement, and was shocked to find out that they have increased in price by quite a bit, so is there any mouse out there that is similar to this?

Criteria
1. Big buttons on the left/right of the mouse that go back/forward on web browsers
2. Unobstrutive design - smooth curves with no weird angles
3. I'm a right hander but I like the symmetrical shape of the Intellimouse Optical 1.1.
4. Cheap

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I was in the same situation as you a year or so back (including being a cheapie). I switched over to Logitech M325-list is about $20 but you can frequently find them for half that (especially if you buy a really ugly one).

It's about 2/3 the size of the Intellimouse, but a nice simple clean design with huge buttons (actually plates). USB mouse, only takes one battery which seems to last forever. Appears that it could be used in either hand.

I'm in the same situation.
The left button started to not working correctly.
Would be the best, if someone had this mice and find good replacement.
I like one side button on the left and one on the right.
Prefer similar shapes.

Any others? The Roccat seems to have excessive buttons tha I don't need, the Logitech lacks the side buttons that I use all the time, and the Deathadder is too expensive.

The Logitech M525 sounds like what you're looking for. Hands down, the best mouse I've ever used. Has a symmetric shape and is larger and more comfortable than their notebook mice like the M325 and M310. If you haven't used a mouse with a "micro-precise" wheel, it takes a little getting used to, but you'll never want to go back. No separate side buttons, but the center wheel clicks left and right, which I use for browser back and forward. Easier than the side buttons, IMO.

The batteries last forever. I've had mine for three years and have changed them once, while using the mouse every day for hours and never bothering to turn it off.
