Alternative to iTunes\iPod

Not exactly sure where this belongs but I'll try General.

It seems that Apple has the market on gadgets for the iPod - but I don't want iTunes. What I do like about the pods are the various add on docking units that include AM\FM radio. I checked the Egg and didn't see any competitors with similar offerings for a docking station.

What I want is a player that will let me play MY own MP3's and dock with an AM\FM unit.

Does anyone know of an iPod alternative with AM\FM docking units?

What do you mean dock with an AM/FM unit?

I am using a Creative Zen Vision and I love it. it plays videos and music and sounds pretty good. I would definately avoid the Zune at all costs though. It sounds bad and is pretty limited as to what it can play.

For the Podders of the world there are a ton of docking stations, or decks, that can function as an AM\FM radio while allowing the iPod to dock on top. That's what I want and I want it with the ability to dock an MP3 player on top like the iPod.

I've even considered a clock radio that plays MP3 CDs but came up with zippp. There are several that play CDs but have a line in for an MP3 player. That's not exactly what I was looking for.

I'm going in circles. I want the features of the iPod accessories without the pod. I may have to settle for an iPod at some point but that's not what I want.

It would be great if someone made a clock radio with a USB port for a thumb drive! Since I can't even find one that plays MP3 CDs I'm sure that option is out.
