Alternative to Birkenstocks?

I already have one pair of Birkenstock sandals. Recently my cheap-o Kohls pair of clogs wore out enough that i am walking on the cork instead of the sole. As a result, i have determined it to be a good time to find a better alternative.

Can anyone recommend a MUCH cheaper alternative to Birkenstocks? (~$60 perhaps)

Edit: While we are on the subject, can anyone recommend a nice pair of casual shoes that would go good with jeans. My shoe laces fell apart on my current ones so i might as well kill 2 birds with one stone.

walmartsocks. They're way below your $60 price, and they'll last just as long.

I bought a couple Birkenstock Betula sandals from Ebay for $28 a piece.
I don't look if they are birkenstock ripoff or what, but they work great for me.

Yep, if you can find them, they are under seven dollars.

Also can anyone recommend a decent pair of casual shoes?

I used to wear birks... but they make my feet all dry and calloused. i'm wearing flip flops right now and they are comfortable. My suggestion is to try some on and see what you like.... JCrew, Teva, etc.

I bought an alternative at AE for $15 and I can't complain they're quite comfortable...

That is exactly what i am looking for :)

The main problem aside from the generally quick wear and tear, is that the Kohls shoe doesn't fit. Not length wise, but heigth wise. THe shoe is tall enough that whenever i walk it nearly falls off or drags on the ground (Yes they are tightened all the way, and yes, i have thought about making my own hole).

Do the AE's fit properly in all dimensions?

i used to love my naots - cheaper than birks and as good or better quality from what i found. the factory store had great discounts, but they are also on zappos

edit, nevermind that....just checked zappos prices...damn, they went up or import fees got alot worse! I got 3 pairs for like $120 in 2001
