Anyone have some info on taking Stinging Nettle as a herb? The girl I'm going out with is all about herbal medicine and she's wanting me to take this stuff for my sinuses since no drugs seem to be helping. Anyone ever taken this, have any info, etc? I've done some research but haven't found a site with info yet that doesn't appear to be run by a bunch of hippies.

Lay off the hippies . . . if Pfizer or Glaxo were pushing herbs you would need a license to grow weeds.

Nettle has been used for a long time as a diuretic. It can also act as an astrigent and relieve problems such as eczema and acne. I've heard of it being used for arthritis by the same principle as capsacin (Icy Hot). Someone published a study on crushed, consumed nettle for hay fever but from what I remember it was weak at best.

Your sinuses need a good ear, nose, and throat doc.
