The damage is already done. Throw out a lie, let it spread to the public for a day or two, and then maybe apologize if called out on it enough. But most people won't follow up and hear the apology. Just the initial lie so the truth never really gets out there.
Exactly.

Meh I still don't like her but she deserves some credit for walking back the statement.

Why? The point of even mentioning bowling green was to use it as justification for the Muslim ban. It was made up just like her other lie about Obama's temp Iraqi ban.

That's why I don't like her she's a lap dog.
This doesn't mean she should be shamed for correcting her statement. Focus on the policy.

Yeah, while apologizing is nice and all, it does nothing for the original argument of justifying the Muslim Ban. Even if people see the apology, they are not likely to go back and revisit the original argument she put forth for justification of the Muslim Ban. They won't remember the particular details of KAC interview, they'll just remember that she had a good argument for the ban and that would be it.

Excuse my paranoia but is this another bust where the CIA/FBI recruited, trained and funded them?

Post-truth, baby! It's all about controlling the conversation while throwing chunks of red meat to the base.

Meh I still don't like her but she deserves some credit for walking back the statement.

In this case she gets no credit her entire statement was a fraud from start to finish. There were two parts to her claim the first was that a bowling green massacre occurred. The second was the liberal media didn't cover it at the time because reasons.

We know the first part is a complete lie that she has tried to switch to saying she used the wrong word but her statement makes no sense if only replace a single word. The second part is a lie as well especially since she is linking to news reports from the mainstream media at the time to try to explain her first lie.

The long and short of it is Baghdad Barbie tried to lie throughout her statement and was busted for it end of story. There were no mistakes made it was a deliberate falsehood.
