alternate to XP/SI-120

I need an alternative to the SI-120/XP-120 due to motherboard compatability issues. Must be compatable with Chaintech VNF-4.

Budget around $50.

You might consider checking if there are fitting issues with the Scythe Katana on

your board. It stands 30 degrees from vertical, has a small foot print, costs about $30,

comes w/92mm fan and is a decent heat-pipe sink.

umm, the SI-120 will fit on that board. it fits on every board, you just have to tinker with some things with the gigabyte, but you have a chaintech, so i dont know why it wouldnt work.

AMD socket 754/939/940 platform

SI-120 is designed to fit all AMD socket 754/939/940 motherboards (*Gigabyte K8 motherboards see below). The only motherboard issue we have found so far is with Chaintech VNF4 Ultra s939 as one of the capacitors gets in the way of the wire clip to lock into the RM. If you've found any, we would appreciate if you could report them to here.

Another possible issue is with Tyan?s S2895 Dual Opteron, but it can be worked out by tilting the capacitor (one in the row next to chipset heatsink) 2~3mm away. Modifiers do this (tilting the capacitor) on their own discretion.

try a thermaltake big typhoon. im sure some people have found a way to make the chaintech work. just bend it.
