Friend of mine just got a Volcano 5 and is complaining of the noise. Could have something to do w/ the 2 case fans and PS fan, but I figure a good place to start is getting a quiter fan for the Volcano 5.

What would be a good fan to put on that thing (if you can even replace it)? Thermaltake says it has a 4500RPM 31dB 32cFM fan on top of the heatsink. He's running an Athlon 1.2GHz and doesn't plan on overclocking.. Any reccomendations? Looked at the quiet Panaflo at PCmods, but it says the quiet ones only flow like 14cFM, would that be enough?

BTW, it's a 60x60x25mm fan on that Volcano 5.

Probably the Sanyo Denki H speed would do the job, its meduimly quiet (low hum), somewhat of a favorite here on the forums. The Panaflo 60mm L would be way too little.
The fan on the volcano5 specs on the website is incorrect its more like ~35db/~25cfm.

Check the For Sale forum search for "Sanyo Denki", most stores including shipping will be about $20.

Cool, that's what I thought, about the Panaflo.

I think it's like 31dB and 32CFM on the stock fan.

Where's a decent place to buy em online? I tried looking at a couple places, but they were only carrying Panaflo. Typed in Sanyo Denki into Google, came up w/ a page from 2CoolTek, but they don't list the Sanyo Denki's any more. (guess I'll try searching here too, hopefully I can find something w/o the full text search).

Edit: Found em, and passed the links along. Thanks!
